With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1962 and its subsequent sale on 5 September 1962.
Production of reference 2570/1 was launched in 1958, the early models fitted with the calibre 12'''-400 movement. As of 1960 the model was upgraded with calibre 27-AM 400 with same size and construction but with Gyromax balance and free sprung regulator. Both series feature an inner soft-iron cap and are designed to be impervious to magnetic fields up to 450 oersteds.
The present watch is believed to be the only forth example of the second series in yellow gold to appear in public, its rarity enhanced by the Patek Philippe gold bracelet and its very good, original overall condition.
Reference 2570/1 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 193, pl. 305.
