The present watch is number 13 of a limited edition of 1860 examples of this model made.
Chopard's L.U.C Calibre 1.98 is the first hand-wound movement to feature four barrels, each of which contains a 47 cm-long mainspring. The sum of their lengths is a lavish 1.88 metres, which enables this calibre to store sufficient energy for 216 hours (i.e. 9 days) of uninterrupted running. This exceptional autonomy is displayed by a large power reserve indicator on the dial. The COSC-certified chronometer movement requires winding only once a week, the additional two days of unused power reserve provide a comfortable margin and enhance the stability of the complex mechanism's rate.
