The very first Cartier time pieces were created in 1853 and over time, the concept of Haute Horlogerie has been perfected. Today, Cartier watches still remain true to tradition, encasing quality movements in the most precious of metals and stones, yet still adopting a contemporary mien. First debuted in the 1920s, the Baignoire series was given its cheeky name because of its 'bathtub' oval shape. This example is a classic and unique time piece which will never go out of style - the traditional Roman numerals stand out boldly on the subtle sheen of a mother-of-pearl dial whilst the gently curved case decorated with stunning yellow diamonds sits gracefully on the wearer's wrist. The jewel set in the crown is a functional design which harks back to the 1930s, when the Pasha of Marrakesh ordered a water resistant Cartier watch that he could go swimming with.
