Specialist note
The lithograph of Savarin was made for Jasper Johns' retrospective at the Whitney Museum of Art, New York. Limited to an edition of 14, it was given to the members of the team who worked with Johns on the show. Crichton spent nine months writing the catalogue for this important show. "It was a huge undertaking; I had no idea what it would be. What was terrific about it was I got to spend all that time with Jasper, day after day." (Michael Crichton, quoted in I. Wasserman, 'Notes from An Interview', Selections from the Michael Crichton Collection, San Diego, 1980, p. 6)
