Ahmed Moualla (Syrian, b. 1958)

Dominating Ahmad Moualla's complex figural compositions is his preoccupation with the daily fight of ordinary men within their political, social and personal environments. A recurrent motif is the boardroom table, peopled by the ruling oligarchy and seen here towards the top. Around this, as if caught up in a tornado, the rest of the figures- the ordinary population- revolves.
