The oval back and bowed seat covered in close-nailed butterscotch suede and flanked by fluted arms with spherical leaf clasp terminals, on reeded circular tapering legs ending in lobed feet

The spherical arm terminals enclosed in leaf-tip bands and the reeded legs with lobed feet are both particular design elements found consistently on the work of John Linnell and illustrated in H. Hayward and P. Kirkham, William and John Linnell, New York, 1980, figs. 69 and 72.
