A BERLIN (K.P.M.) FIGURAL TABLE CENTERPIECE
CIRCA 1889, BLUE SCEPTRE AND IRON-RED ORB MARKS, IMPRESSED MOEL NO. 5212, SI AND W
In the neo-rococo taste, of shaped-rectangular form, surmounted by a figure of a maiden atop an acanthus molded plinth, each corner with paired putti at variant pursuits above scale-pattern vignettes, the sides with large chrysanthemum or poppy blooms, the interior with prunus branches
35 in. (88.9 cm.) wide (2)

Specialist note

An example of this model was displayed on the Royal Berlin Manufactory's stand in L'Exposition Universelle de 1889, Paris. The flower painting on the sides is likely the work of Franz Aulich (Silesian, b. 1852), recorded as a flower painter at Berlin circa 1888.
