with S. Nystad, Lochem/The Hague, 1966-71, as 'Gerrit Willemsz. Heda', where bought by the family of the present owners.

Specialist note

The present composition is based upon the painting by Willem Claesz. Heda of 1637 in the Museum Mayer van den Bergh, Antwerp. Heda was of great influence on Cornelis Mahu's work, who made several versions of this composition.
