AN ANTIQUE TIGER TOOTH AND GOLD BRACELET
Designed as fourteen tiger's teeth with gold terminals and oval chain-link connections to the circular clasp with applied monogram surmounted by a coronet, circa 1880, in original fitted case by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company

Towards the end of the 19th century it was fashionable for the Maharajahs to invite important foreign government officials and royalty for 'The Sport of Kings' tiger hunting. The Westerners regarded this hunt 'Shikar' as a symbol of their social status and kept claws and teeth as a memento which they often mounted into jewellery items.

Please note that this lot will require a CITES licence to leave the EU and will be subject to US Fish and Wildlife restrictions if it is to be imported into the USA

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 15% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
