A mounted knight attacked by two Turkish soldiers
black chalk, pen and brown ink, brown wash, heightened with white (partially oxidized), on faded blue paper, minor losses, unframed
10¾ x 14 7/8 in. (27.4 x 37.8 cm.)

J. Barnard (L. 1419), his mount, with his numbering and inscriptions on the verso (L. 1420), 'J:B, No: 921. 15 by 10¾' and with his attribution 'Jacopo Cortese, called Borgognone Born in 1621 Died at Rome in 1676 aged 55'.
