includes photographs of Lauber, photographs of windows designed by Lauber, four pencil and watercolor sketches for windows including one for the 'Good Shepherd' window at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (1912), two copyright cards for Lauber designs (1909), pencil and watercolor sketches of scenes in New York (late 19th century), etc., approximately 37 pieces (28)

Specialist note

Born in Germany, Jospeh Lauber came to the United States at the age of nine. He studied art at the Cooper Insititute and went on to serve as an apprentice to John LaFarge and worked with him on the sculptural decorations at Cornelius Vanderbilt's house in 1892. He designed windows for the Church of the Ascension in New York and Trinity Lutheran Chuch in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, among many others.
