Flora and Insects
A set of two fan leaves, mounted and framed, ink and colour on paper
Each leaf measures 18 x 51.5 cm. (7 1/8 x 20¼ in.)
Inscribed and signed, with a total of four seals of the artist
Dated spring, wuxu year (1898) and jihai year (1899) respectively
Dedicated to Zhongsheng

Collection of Mr. Zhou Cida

Mr. Zhou Cida, a native from Guangzhou, later immigrated to Macau due to social and political instability, running a printing business. Owing to his connections with people in the art circle, Zhou by chance met painters from the Lingnan School - Gao Jianfu, Gao Qifeng, Zhao Shao'ang, who later gifted Zhou with their paintings as a sign of their friendship.
