1786-1788, INTERLACED BLUE LS MARKS, DATE LETTERS JJ AND LL, PAINTER'S MARK Y FOR EDME-FRANCOIS BOUILLAT (PERE) TO EACH PIECE, VARIOUS INCISED MARKS
The tray painted with a stag hunt within a tooled gilt quatrefoil cartouche, the other pieces painted with hounds chasing birds within wooded landscapes, reserved with concentric gilt cartouches, the borders decorated with continuous raised gilt scrolling garlands issuing from fronds and suspending husks, comprising:
A lobed shaped oval two-handled tray (plateau 'du roi') (firing crack across one handle, slight scratching to enamels)
An oviform teapot and cover with a gilt berry finial (théière 'Calabre' et couvercle) (small chip to tip of spout)
A baluster milk-jug on three branch-moulded feet (pot à lait à 'trois pieds')
A sugar-bowl and cover (pot à sucre 'Bouret' et couvercle) (chip to underside of cover)
A coffee-can and saucer (gobelet 'litron' et soucoupe)
(very slight wear and flaking to gilding, some possible retouching to gilding)
