The first arms are those of The Prince George, Duke of Kent (1902-1942) accolé with those of his wife Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent (1906-1968).
The second arms are those of the City of Perth, Western Australia, as granted in 1926 and used until 1948.
The inscription reads 'Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent from His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia on the occasion of the naming of H.M.A.S. "Perth" 10th July 1939.'
