The present watch is a very appealing and well-preserved example of the legendary reference 6236. Made in 1962, the last year of production of the model, it has survived in a very unspoilt condition, still retaining the original documentation and box.

Reference 6236 was the final version of the celebrated Datocompax model. In production between 1958 and 1962, it is easily identifiable by the larger bezel compared to its predecessors. In fact, the case of reference 6236 is made of three elements, the bezel no longer carved from the same block as the centrepiece of the case.

The model is described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 402 - 409.
