Cal. 13,5 nickel-finished lever movement, 20 jewels, brushed gilt dial, applied gold baton numerals, oval case, diamond-set bezel, snap on back, swiveling within the gold and cabochon chrysoprase-set outer ring, bracelet consisting of articulated gold, diamond and alternating cabochon lapis lazuli and chrysoprase-set circular links, case, dial and movement signed

Specialist note

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with yellow gold bracelet, diamonds, lapis lazuli and chrysoprase cabochons in 1971 and its subsequent sale on 22 December 1971.

To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never been offered at auction before and is furthermore the first example of a reference 4196/1 to appear in public to date.

It represents a fine example of a highly jewelled wristwatch by Patek Philippe. Mostly made by special order or for a particular event or exhibition, such watches are in general unique pieces.
