An account of a journey made from Calcutta to Suez (via Madras, Ceylon, Aden) by the Bentick steamer and overland to Cairo, by Nile steamer to Alexandria, and by Himalaya steamer to Malta, and finally to Southampton. The watercolours, by a competent amateur, are views from the ship, most are coastal sketches (with nature scenes, boats, the steamer itself, occasional natives and costumes) including a view of the Sierra Nevada, two of the harbor of Aden and some of the Read Sea. The view of Malta is supplied from another Italian source.
