Designed as a pair of carved ivory opera glasses, decorated with multi-colored enamel floral motifs, with gold and black and green enamel trim, enhanced by sculpted gold foliate detail, circa 1880, 4 x 2 x 1½ ins.

Specialist note

Opera glasses were an elegant accessory for the theater or concert hall. This pair in enameled ivory was designed by Georges le Sache and possibly retailed by Tiffany & Co.
