Late 19th/20th century, impressed monogram and sceptre mark, h and cypher, incised 340 - 290, signed indistinctly lower right
Finely painted after Guido Reni with the recumbent nude goddess receiving an arrow from Cupid
11½ x 13 3/8 in., (29.3 x 34 cm.), within a giltwood and red velvet frame

Specialist note

Guido Reni, Italian (1575-1642). The present subject is based on a painting in the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, Dresden (Gal. Nr. 324). For a similar example see Christie's, New York, 21 April 2009, lot 77.
