With unusual engraved decoration to back of thumbpiece and both handle terminal and thumbpiece with gadrooning, repair to cover and thumbpiece join
13¼ in. (33.5 cm.) high

Specialist note

Compare with a James I flagon with relief cast decoration on the thumbpiece, Bonhams, Chester 8th September 2005 lot 134. Although engraved and not cast, the motifs on this example are similar but the angular gadrooning most unusual.
