A WILLIAM IV ROSEWOOD WRITING TABLE

This table reflects the fashion introduced in the second decade of the l9th century to Soho, London by the Paris-trained cabinet-maker S. Jamar, who advertised Handsome Tables in rosewood amongst his Superb French Cabinet Furniture (see G. Gilbert, Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture, 1996).
