Depicting the figure of Ceres sitting on a chariot drawn by a team of oxen, the six spoked pierced wheel with a blue and white enamel circular chapter ring with gold munite dots and five minute markers, signed CHOPIN A PARIS, the eight-day twin barrel movement with spring suspension; pendulum and winding key

Specialist note

The model of this clock is allegorical for harvest, personified by the figure of Ceres, the godess of agriculture who is associated with corn. As the personification of earth's abundance she wears a crown of ears of corn and has a corn sheaf in her left hand (originally also with a sickle which is now lacking). The plinth of this clock is also decorated with agricultural implements.
