Specialist note

At the literal level the motif is the urban setting,
more like the no-mans land of the suburban
sprawl or the anonymous orifices on a high rise
building. I like to play with the traditional
painting format - that of a window or an
opening in the wall to look in and look out.

The observed spaces often provide the
springboard to the theater where the main
actors are the props and the living beings are
either yet to enter or have already left the
stage. The all gleaming effect underscores an
uneasy calm. In every scenario we are alone.
Perhaps something is waiting to happen. The
intimacy of our well lit but bleak world, full of
inviting comforts but nowhere to truly belong.
