A series of black and white reportage images of the Tsar and Tsarina, Nicholas II and Alexandra, on an official visit aboard the Standart to France, including Paris, on the invitation of President and Mme. Loubet, each with printed paper label individually inscribed with the caption in French and numbered, in brass bound wooden box
each plate 3 3/8 x 4 in. (8.5 x 10 cm.) each image approximately 2¾ x 2 7/8 in. (7 x 7.2 cm.)

Specialist note

The Imperial visit of September 1901 saw the arrival of Nicholas II and Alexandra aboard the Imperial Yacht Standart at Dunkirk, where they were met by President Loubet aboard the Presidential yacht, Cassini, to review the French Fleet. The visit proceeded to Paris and also included a number of reviews of troop manoeuvres. The images included in this lot include formal and informal views from the visit.
