Specialist note

Henry George Herbert was the son of Henry Herbert, 1st Earl of Carnarvon (d. 1811) and his wife, Lady Elizabeth Alicia Maria Wyndham (d. 1826). He served as the Member of Parliament for Cricklade from 1794 until he suceeded to his father's titles in 1811. He married Elizabeth Kitty Acland, daughter of Colonel John Dyke Acland, in 1796.
