paper label attached to the counter-enamel inscribed 'Honble. Mary, daughter of Bellenden, m. 1720 John Campbell K. T. 4th Duke of Argyll.'

Another miniature of Mary Campbell, née Bellenden, by Zincke after Charles Jervas (British, c. 1675-1739), sold Sotheby's, London, 15 July 1968, lot 98. The miniature after Charles Jervas's full-length portrait of Mary Campbell, as Mary Queen of Scotts, bears the inscription 'The Honb: Mary Campbell Daught. to: Jo: L Bellenden. and Wife to Colo. Jo: Campbell. /CF. Zincke pinxt 1722' on its counter-enamel.
