Patek Philippe. A fine and rare stainless steel chronograph wristwatch with original certificate and box

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial, raised steel hour markers and tachymetre scale in 1940 and its subsequent sale on 30 April 1941. Furthermore delivered with the original fitted presentation box.

The present watch, absolutely fresh to the market, is believed to be one of only four example of a reference 130 in stainless steel with such a dial layout known to exist to date. Commonly known with the combination of applied Arabic and short baton numerals, versions with the extended baton numerals, such as this watch, are exceedingly rare.
The present reference 130 furthermore impresses by its crisp and well preserved case, its most appealing satin finish, the highly attractive and unrestored dial. Still retaining the original certificate and box, this watch represents a rare opportunity for the demanding collector.

The production of the simple chronograph with reference 130 was launched in 1934. The model was produced in different precious metal versions as well as in stainless steel. It is interesting to note that the lugs of the stainless steel version are different from the yellow, pink or white gold ones. Their slightly thicker but shorter design gives the watch a rather tonneau-shaped design and a more sportive, robust and masculine look.
