Specialist note

For the judgment of Paris plate see F. and N. Hervouët and Y. Bruneau, La Porcelaine des compagnies des Indes à Décor Occidental, p. 310, pl. 13.71 and pl. 13.75 for similar examples.
The lobed saucer dish is illustrated by the same authors on p. 295, pl. 13.15 where they state that the design is taken from an engraving by Cl. Dufflos after an original by Francesco Albani.
