Specialist note

The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne is after Andrea Sansovino's 1512 sculpture in S. Agostino, Rome. At one point considered to be a work by Rubens, the drawing has an illustrious provenance, having been in the collections of John Richardson, Jr. and Sir Thomas Lawrence.
The Assumption of the Virgin is after Rubens' altarpiece of the same subject for the Antwerp Cathedral.
