Another version of the present composition, painted en grisaille, appeared at Christie's in London (5 July 1991, lot 253). Although Professor Held catalogued the work as Holsteyn, we are grateful to Dr. Marijke de Kinkelder for suggesting the attribution to Dietrich (written communication, 27 November 2008).
