Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004)

Open Ended Nude (Variable Edition), #150 belongs to the "Variable Editions" series, which Wesselmann began in the 1970s. A unique example executed in 1982 shortly before the artist completed the series with #200, the present work employs a unique form or colour combination differentiating it from others in the grouping. The artist would begin working on the grouping without knowing how many works would eventually comprise the series.
