Oval, 7½ in. (137 mm.) high, rectangular gilt-metal réverbère mount engraved 'ENAMEL. H. P. BONE' in the lower right corner within hinged green velvet-lined red leather travelling case

Specialist note

The present miniature is probably signed and dated on the counter-enamel. Henry Pierce Bone and his father, Henry Bone, R.A. (1755-1834) usually signed in full and dated their works in this way, however the miniature's current frame precludes inspection without risking damage to the enamel.
