The case with foliate and C-scroll mouldings overall, the polychrome decorated dial with female figures to the corners allegorical of the four seasons, the arch with an automaton scene depicting Pan, a satyr and a nymph, silvered arcaded chapter ring signed CAREL CRISTOFFEL TAPPE/AMSTERDAM, matted and engraved centre with subsidiary seconds ring with date aperture, flanked by a sector for month and day of week, penny moon above VI, tune selection to the right side, selection for slaan/niet slaan to IX and speelen/niet speelen to III, the eight-day five pillar movement with anchor escapement, Dutch strike on two bells, the musical barrel positioned to the right side of the movement playing six tunes via a brass 18.5 cm long pinned barrel with 29 hammers on 15 bells; three large brass weights
