A similar model of the present cabinet was originally designed by Bruno Paul for the hall of Ernst Leitz's house in Wetzlar in 1915/17. The front of the two cabinets bear a variant inlay.
This lot is accompanied by a report from Dr. Alfred Ziffer, editor of the book Bruno Paul Deutsche Raumkunst und Architektur zwischen Jungendstil und Moderne.
