Specialist note

Although signed and dated to 1920, this drawing almost certainly belongs to circa 1916-17. It is among a group of swift ink drawings of Vanessa Bell made at Charleston such as Vanessa Bell Seated in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
