Of campana shape with outscrolled rim above a waisted body, the turned socle above a circular spreading foot and square plinth base

Specialist note

Porphyry vases of this campana or 'Borghese' shape were particularly favoured at the Älvdalen (Elfdal) manufactory and designs appear in three variants in the 1805 catalogue (see Porphyre, La Pierre Royale, Paris, 1990, p. 20 and p. 33).
