Ippolito Scarsella, lo Scarsellino (Ferrara c. 1550-1620)

This is a characteristic work on an intimate scale by the last significant Ferrarese master in the Renaissance tradition. Although Scarsellino executed major public commissions, it is in his smaller works that his individuality is most clearly expressed.
