A JAY FINANCIAL DOCUMENT; THE CHIEF JUSTICE DISPOSES OF SOME FARM BUSINESS. "On this day," he writes, "we settled all accounts between us (except that of wheat ground on joint acct.) to the first day of May last; and on this settlemt. including the Balance of last Years acct. and half the amount of Dane's note, & of two notes from Maj. Lyon to John Jay, one dated 24 Jany. 1790, & the other 7 Feby. 1792, there was found due from Maj. to Lyon to John Jay, the sum of one hundred & fourteen pounds six shillings and two pence, which is to be paid with Interest from this Day. - N.B. all the horned cattle now on the farm are joint Property." The settlement is counter-signed by Samuel Lyons.
