Specialist note

Margarita Tupitsina:
I want to ask you, why you use fabric in your works?

Timur Novikov:
For purely utilitarian purposes. Everything comes from Larionov... Larionov drew a lot from folk art. As everyone knows, in folk art, painting on canvas is not sufficient. Folk art, on the whole, is textiles...I make pictures which are at one time a curtain, a screen and a very serious artwork. It can be both a table cloth and the most sophisticated form of art.
