EDWARD ROBERT SMYTHE (BRITISH, 1810-1899)
The Horse Fair
oil on canvas
32½ x 66 in. (82.5 x 168 cm.)

with Oscar and Peter Johnson Ltd., London.

Note du spécialiste

Edward Smythe painted a similar picture of the Woolpit Horse Fair, Suffolk, which was exhibited with Oscar and Peter Johnson Ltd. in 1964. It has been suggested that the present lot may be an alternate view of the same scene.
