According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch was sold in 1941.
A similar chronograph wristwatch bearing number 44'639 is illustrated in Audemars Piguet by Gisbert L. Brunner, Christian Pfeiffer-Belli, Martin K. Wehrli, first edition, p. 242, pl. 335 & 338b.
Consigned by a private collector, the present watch stands out by its very good overall condition and the highly attractive two-tone champagne dial.
