Ottoman Turkish, [?1794]
a wooden quadrant with markings in red and black, gilt decoration, red painted edges, the obverse with diagram of unequal hours drawn in red to upper right corner, the divided horizon with gilt decorations every 10°, dated 208 [?i.e. 1208AH, i.e. 1794AD] in top left corner, the reverse with sexagesimal trigonometric grid with gilt decorations (small chip to edge and scratches to surface), original(?) plumb bob on later green string.
