Specialist note

This Herringbone D-28 is constructed with what is commonly called Amazon rosewood (Dalbergia spruceana). Though quite similar to Brazilian rosewood in rarity and tonal quality the wood is not an endangered species and subject to the restrictions under the CITES treaty.

The D-28AR was never put into production and this instrument is a "wood test" prototype.
