Sugata [configuration]: very broad hon-zukuri, iori-mune, ko-kissaki with a deep koshi-sori and pronounced fun-bari
Kitae [forging pattern]: chirimen-hada in nie with chikei
Hamon [tempering pattern]: suguha mixed with choji-midare of nie with ashi and yo
Boshi [tip]: midare-komi
Horimono [carving]: bo-hi
Nakago [tang]: ubu with o-sujikai file marks and two holes Habaki [collar]: two-piece, gold and shakudo
Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 33 5/8in. (85.1cm.) In shirasaya [wood storage scabbard]
With Tokubetsu hozon token (Sword especially worthy of preserving) certificate no. 122330 attributing this sword to the Ko-Aoe school, issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 1991.6.21
