Each with a rectangular seat with scrolled baluster arm-supports and open sides, above a plain frieze flanked by shaped panels painted with a crest of a griffin with an arrowed tongue, encircled by a garter strap with the motto 'syn/AR/dy/myn(?)' for the Wilkins family, on Ionic tapering legs terminating in spade feet, with check cotton squab cushions, the armorial panels apparently original
