A BOTTICINO STONE FIGURE OF A SLEEPING WOMAN
VENETIAN, 18TH CENTURY
The nude figure depicted recumbent on a draped cushion and with her head thrown back; on an integrally carved rectangular base; minor chips, losses, repairs; restorations
22 in. (56 cm.) long

Note du spécialiste

In its general attitude, the present nude figure recalls 18th century works such as the white marble figure of Endymion from the Royal Collection in Stockholm (see Leander Touati, op. cit., p. 97, pl. I).
