Vanessa Bell (1879-1961)

Michelham Priory at Upper Dicker in Sussex is a moated Augustinian priory, part-medieval and part-Elizabethan. Reflections in water was a favourite motif for V. Bell. This unusually accurate painting may have been a commission.
