Specialist note

Jacques Dupin has confirmed the authenticity of this work.

Derriàre le miroir is the title of a review published by Maeght between 1946 and 1982. The present watercolour is related to a print called Zephyr Bird (Mourlot 227) published first in Derriàre le miroir, June - July - August 1956, nos. 87-88-89, pp. 14-15. On the cover of this issue was the lithograph Terres de grand feu (Mourlot 222 and 266). This review served as the catalogue to the exhibition Terres de grand feu - Miró - Artigas in 1963 at the Galerie Maeght, in Paris, with text by Jacques Prévert and Josep Llorens Artigas.
