Tasting Note: An archetypal Montrose. Two recent notes the same month. The first, from the château: not as deep as expected; an extraordinary, uplifting, crystallised violets fragrance; surprisingly delicate flavour, delicious. The second (in New York): good ripe bouquet; very flavoury but with a slightly tart finish. Last tasted Sept 2005. At best ***** M.B.
