Specialist note

Chhaganlal and Vrajlal Tribhuvan, the sons of Raghunatu Tribhuvan, a specialist craftsman who produced silver and brass-covered furniture, commonly signed their footstools in English or Gujarati. Similar stools have come onto the market in the past twenty years. All are square, with gadrooned edges and pronounced paw feet.
